Disclaimer, Disclosure, & Privacy Policy

This Disclaimer and Privacy Policy details why we collect particular information about our donors and other visitors, and how we will protect their personal privacy within the Sage Hawk Foundation and our website. In order to fully understand your rights, we encourage you to read this policy carefully.   Please realize that our website is a “living” document and is subject to periodic updates and changes.  The Sage Hawk Foundation reserves the right at any time and without notice to make alterations to this policy.

Data collection and use: Our online contact forms require donors and other users to give us sensitive contact information that may include name, email address and telephone numbers.  Donors and other visitors who sign pledges, make donations, or request our email or offline updates may be added to our contact list. We do not request or store sensitive information from our online or offline donors or visitors, such as social security numbers or credit cards (unless required for a donation).  For online transactions, credit card numbers and bank account information are used only for donation processing and are not retained for any other purpose.  All online transactions, including recurring donations, are managed by credit card and bank institutions.  For offline transactions, credit card numbers and bank account data are used only for donation processing and are encrypted.  PCI and other Federal and State security requirements are strictly followed for both online and offline processing.  The Sage Hawk Foundation will never share, lease, or sell donor or visitor email addresses or telephone numbers with third party organizations without explicit permission from the donor or visitor.

Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses: If necessary, we may use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server.  We reserve the right to use IP address information to analyze trends, track user movement throughout the site, or gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the sites effectiveness, and deliver customized, personalized content.  IP addresses are not linked to any personally identifiable information.

Use of "Cookies": Our Site may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our Site. Cookies are pieces of information that some Web sites transfer to the computer being used to browse the Web site and use for record-keeping purposes. Use of cookies makes Web-surfing easier by performing certain functions such as saving your passwords, your personal preferences regarding your use of the particular Web site and to ensure you don't see the same ad repeatedly.

Security: All online information provided to The Sage Hawk Foundation is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us.  Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. Financial Disclosure: The IRS states that under IRC 6104 nonprofit organizations must make their three most recent annual returns publicly available.  Congress's reasoning behind this law was to allow the general public access to the returns of organizations and trusts that accept donations from the public.
